Teenagers will no longer need a pencil when they take the Scholastic Aptitude Test, better known as the SAT.
Starting this spring, the test will be 100% digital on the College Board's Bluebook Digital Testing app.
Students have a choice to use their own personal laptops/tablets or they can use computers provided at the testing center.
While the first concern would be cheating on the test, it still must be taken at a testing center.
Another big change coming to the entrance exam is "adaptive" testing. If a student performs poorly on the first math or reading section, the second section in that subject will be easier. This also means that the difficulty level will factor into the score.
The new SAT is over two hours long, almost an hour shorter than before.
