The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced that there will be no extension deadline for the registration of students sitting this year's national examinations.
Registration for the 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations has been ongoing since January, and KNEC has said the deadline remains March 29 and there will be no extension.
"Please note that the portal for registration of this year's candidates closes on March 29, one week from now.
"There will be no extension of the deadline, and requests for late registration will not be honoured," KNEC announced through a statement on X.
Apart from the warning concerning the deadline, KNEC also said photos of KCSE candidates will not be changed after the end of the registration process.
"There will be no room for change of photographs for KCSE candidates after the closure of the registration period," the examination agency said.
KNEC further advised the guardians and parents to ensure they visit their children's schools, that they are well registered, and that their details are captured accurately.
The registration process began in January, and KNEC chief executive officer David Njengere then warned that there would be no extension that would be granted.
“As KNEC is on registration of candidates for KPSEA and KCSE in 2024, we always have major challenges in this area, and we want to announce that the registration for 2024 KPSEA and KCSE will begin on January 29, and it’s going to run for two months up to March 29, 2024,” Njengere said at Moi Girls High School in Eldoret then.
