The Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) collected yesterday the modification of the order that approves the school calendar for the current academic year 2022/2023 in Galician centers supported with public funds; modification that affects, above all, the evaluation sessions.
Thus, the ordinary final evaluation session for first-year baccalaureate students and the final evaluation session for modules for first-year students of basic grade training cycles must be held from June 5, 2023.
In addition, the extraordinary final evaluation sessions for high school students and the first year of basic training cycles, the final evaluation session for compulsory secondary education students, the final evaluation sessions of the second basic professional training course and the final evaluation sessions of the students' modules of the professional training training cycles must be carried out as of June 22, 2023.
The session of the third partial evaluation of compulsory secondary education must coincide with the session of the final evaluation.
Articles on the teaching staff's schedule are also modified, with respect to which it is indicated that the addresses of the centers are authorized to introduce the appropriate modifications in the schedules of the second-year baccalaureate and professional training teachers who are affected by the completion of the Training module in Work Centers in the hours in which they stop
teaching the subjects
or modules of their competence from the corresponding evaluation session.
Also in the schedules of the teachers of the first baccalaureate course as of June 5, 2023, assigning tasks for which they are responsible, giving priority to carrying out support, reinforcement and recovery activities for students with subjects, fields or modules with parts not passed and, if applicable, preparation for the ABAU and extraordinary tests, so that the teaching staff will develop at all times and until the end of the class activities the schedule that corresponds to them in accordance with current regulations .
Finally, it is added that the final qualification of the subjects and areas will be made effective in the final evaluation of the course.
THE PREVIOUS RECTIFICATION: THE PERIOD OF CLASSES IN ESO In the middle of last December the news was known that there would no longer be three weeks without classes in June for the Galician students of ESO who managed to pass everything, as had happened in the previous course .
The Ministry of Education announced the rectification in the ESO evaluation calendar, which in practice means that the last exams will be just before June 22, as has traditionally happened.
Last year, the third evaluation was held on June 5 and forced students with all passes to remain in the classroom without giving new material, which caused discomfort among parents and the educational community.
