What happened?
The Ministry of Education announced a historic modification to the higher education admission system. From 2022, the University Transition Test (PTU) can be taken twice a year, the first being in July.
What did the Ministry say?
Minister Raúl Figueroa commented that in July 2022 the first test of the period will be taken for graduating students.
"In the winter PTU they will be able to enroll in one or more tests that they wish to take because starting next year the system will select the lowest individual test for purposes of determining their score," he explained.
"You can access with your best score in any of the tests you took," he added.
"In this way we are advancing in what the country has been waiting for a long time, the possibility that students can take more than once a year, which allows them to prepare better and helps to decompress natural anxiety. It also provides the flexibility that the higher education system needs," said the minister.

How much is the test worth?
For this admission process, the registration fee for the Transition Test will have a value of $32,700 .
However, the test will be free for 4th grade students from municipal schools, subsidized private schools, local services and delegated administration; thanks to the Admission Test Scholarship .
How can I enroll?
To register for the PDT, people must go to the acceso.mineduc.cl website and click on the " Transition Test " option , which is at the top of the screen.
Then they must select " Sign up here " to then log in with the RUT and password . Those who do not have an account can create one with their RUT, email and document number.
Then, a form will be displayed that must be filled in with geographic and contact information , academic and PDT surrender, personal and family data, an academic experience questionnaire and sign a consent.
Finally, the person must download their identification card for their registration to be valid.
