The pandemic has shifted Spain's academic calendar for the 2020-2021 year, announced by the Education Sector. Students will also have postponed entrance exams in all autonomous communities and later university enrollment dates.
In less than a month, many autonomous communities will start the new 2020-2021 school year . These remaining weeks are focused on buying books and school supplies. In some communities, the return of students to educational centers will be scheduled and with some rules to avoid coronavirus infections.
All the autonomous communities plan to start before September 15 and end before June 25. In addition to the Christmas and Easter holidays, each school has three days of free disposal and two of local festivities. Many communities will spend the holiday of the Constitution Day from December 6 to 7.
The pandemic led the Education Sector Conference to decide to postpone the entrance exams in all the autonomous communities, most of them making the ordinary call during the first half of July, and now the second during the first 15 days of September
The extraordinary call for September will also be held later than usual due to the coronavirus. Only Euskadi, Navarra and Asturias have already held the second call for selectivity. When done in September, there will be students who will have to enroll in the university in October.
