This workshop focuses on how the core concepts of Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) are applied specifically to transfer populations. The majority of the workshop concentrates on the areas of transfer strategy, policy, processes and relationship building critical to a successful transfer enrollment program, and briefly highlights how transfer strategy fits within a larger SEM plan for undergraduate populations.

International Transfer Credit

This two-day crash course, designed for individuals who work with international educational records, or in admissions or study abroad offices, focuses on determining and calculating acceptable and applicable transfer credit from international institutions. Through hands-on evaluation of authentic international records and credentials, apply best industry practices to transfer credit from international undergraduate, graduate, and short term/ exchange programs from selected top-sending countries.

The Transfer Toolkit

Registrar 101 & FERPA

Take a journey through the what and how of the registrar's office, and gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful now and in future supervisory roles. A significant portion of the workshop, led by AACRAO Senior Fellow LeRoy Rooker, is dedicated to understanding and applying FERPA. This workshop is for those who have been in a registrar-related position for less than three years.

IPEDS Data and Benchmarking: Supporting Decision Making and Institutional Effectiveness

This workshop introduces the fundamentals of benchmarking as a measure of institutional effectiveness. It is designed for individuals with little to no experience in benchmarking studies. Participants use data from the IPEDS Surveys, Data Feedback Reports, and the “Use of Data” section of the NCES website to learn about the types of comparison groups that can be constructed. Exercises demonstrate establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs) and identification of variables to refine comparison groups.

Note: Participants are required to bring a MAC or PC laptop with wireless capability and Microsoft Excel.
